Independent Inspections was formed in 1994 by John Yuille in response to a growing demand from healthcare professionals for Health and Safety inspections of pressure vessels – sterilisers and compressors. This demand in turn had been stimulated by the introduction of the Pressure Systems Regulations 1989 which were introduced in order to reduce the number of pressure related hazards in the workplace. John had previously trained as a mechanical engineer and had worked as an insurance inspector in the field of pressure vessels.
